- Launched in June 2002, KDDI SatWeb-28 is the unique service provided by KDDI for easy and comfortable Internet access via INMARSAT.
- What's KDDI SatWeb-28?
Filled with conveniences and technology for "comfortable" Internet access, this is a service that only KDDI could realize. No registration or application is necessary! Anyone anytime can use it via INMARSAT. Give it a try and see how easy it is to get the latest news and other information from the Internet.
- What are the advantages of KDDI SatWeb-28?
By incorporating Web content compression technologies in the KDDI SatWeb-28 server, it is possible for users to receive web-based content such as HTML/XML text and GIF/JPEG images in a compressed form. By taking advantage of this function, INMARSAT users can enjoy average content compression rate of about 70%. At a conventional INMARSAT A/B transmission speed of 9.6kbps, the benefit of compression equates to a maximum speed of 15kbps (50% increase). * Source: KDDI internal research.
