◇KDDI SatWeb-28 Service Outline

Compared with conventional methods, KDDI SatWeb-28 provides INMARSAT maritime users with "speedy" Internet access at "lower cost".

Service Features
* Dedicated access platform provides more comfortable and stable Internet communications via INMARSAT.
* No authentication process is necessary, resulting in reduced communications time and costs.
* Advanced Web content compression technologies further reduce communications time and cost.
* Communication speed is accelerated by high-speed display of the Web browser.
* End-to-end support from satellite link to Internet circuit.

How to Access KDDI SatWeb-28
* Access number for KDDI SatWeb-28 is "28#".
* DNS service addresses are My ISP automatically provides a Domain Name Server [DNS] address;.
* Select one of the 3 types of Access IDs: "yam003" for unrestricted access, "yam003_30" for automatic disconnection after 30 minutes, and "yam003_60" for automatic disconnection after 60 minutes.
* Password is "kddi".

* Configuration settings will vary depending on the INMARSAT terminal model, Windows-OS version, etc.
* Please be sure to confirm the configuration settings manual!

How to Set Web Content Compression Level
Enter one of the following proxy server addresses and port numbers that correspond to the desired level of compression in your Web browser settings.
High Compression Mode Address: 192.168.10.13 Port No.: 32080
Medium Compression Mode Address: 192.168.10.15 Port No.: 32080
Via Cache Address: 192.168.10.17 Port No.: 3128

*If the browser is not configured to use a proxy server, then the Web content compression function cannot be used.
* Use the browser's detailed setting or advanced properties to activate usage of "HTTP 1.1"

Compatible Data Types
* All types of text data
* PDF files
* Applets and other binary data
* GIF, JPEG, PNG and other image data*
* Because images are already compressed, it is not possible to significantly further reduce data volume even when other applicable compression methods are used with the images. This service adopts an algorithm that reduces information volume of images.

Compatible Browser Software
* Netscape Navigator version 4 or higher.
* Internet Explorer version 4 or higher.
* Other browsers compatible with HTTP 1.1

PLEASE READ!
* This service is available only to users of SatWeb-28 provided by KDDI. (For example, because this service cannot be used in the case of Internet access via a corporate LAN, it will be necessary to remove the settings.)
* This service is not compatible with FTP, etc.
* The algorithm utilized in compression reduces the information volume of the image information, and does not preserve the original image quality.
* Depending on the contents viewed by the browser, certain effects may not appear.
*Please be sure to confirm the configuration setting manual.
